Self Starter of the Year countdown begins

by Startacus Admin
Back in September when we launched our Self Starter of the Week award it was because we recognised that pretty much every early stage startup, entrepreneur, self starter loves to get a pat on the back, a mention and a bit of kudos for their big (or small) idea, project or business.
And so we were delighted when Marketest, the leading UK Online Quantitative Market Research company, who work with pre-startup, startups and businesses agreed to partner up with us to support the Self Starter of the Week feature.
So we made extra plans for an end of year / start of the New Year Award to give a really big shout-out to the 2013 Self Starter of the Year - someone who has perhaps stood out just that little bit more - someone who is a real inspiration and who deserves even more recognition.
To make the Self Starter of the Year award even better, the wonderful team at Marketest offered up a fab prize of £1k worth of consumer market research to the winner.
So we are now down to the nitty gritty, where we ask all awarded Self Starters of the Week to pitch to us in 200 words or less, why they should be considered the Self Starter of the Year and what they would use the £1k worth of consumer market research for.
We’ve been pretty chuffed to award some fantastic Self Starters with the weekly title and we we’d ask that you take a few moments to look through our Self Starter of the Week Hall of Fame.
Plus we hope this lovely little pic, highlighting all of our Self Starters of the Week, show you that behind the rather fab ideas they have, they are ordinary self starting folk like you and me. Perhaps next year the 2014 Self Starter of the Year will be and could be you - that incidentally will be starting again in Feb.
So to all the 2013 Self Starters of the Week, here’s all the details worth noting:
- All Self Starter of the Week awardees will have until Friday 10th January 2014 to get those all important pitches over to us
- Email editorial@startacus.net - your pitch can be simply written in the email itself, or attached as a Word doc, Google Doc or PDF - it’s up to you!
- Startacus and Marketest will review and consider all pitches and of course, the judges’ decision is final.
- The 2013 Self Starter of the Year will then be announced on 20th January 2014. Hooray! What a great start to the New Year for one lucky self starter!
We look forward to receiving some great pitches! At this point we should also say a big “thank you” to Marketest for getting involved and supporting the Award. A big virtual high five in your direction too!
Good luck Self Starters and we look forward to reporting back on Monday 20th Jan with that all important result.
