Self starter of the week & our Hall of Fame!

by Startacus Admin
Since starting Startacus and the self start society, we’ve quickly realised that self starters like to talk - about themselves, about their ideas, about their projects, about their businesses, about lots of things really.
We realised too that other self starters like to listen - and learn - and read - and be inspired. We know when you’re starting out that knowing people are listening and interested in what you’re doing can do wonders for your motivation. Whether they give you a pat on the back or simply help spread the message of what you’re doing, it all matters. And it’s all great!
So...here at Startacus we thought it was about time that we did some of that ‘great’ stuff ourselves.
We’ve just launched a brand new feature on the site - the Startacus Self Starter of the Week.
Here’s the lowdown:
-
Each week we’ll choose one of our Self Starter members and we’ll start spreading the word about them and their project or business.
-
We’ll give them shout-outs on Twitter and Facebook - telling all and sundry about why they’re pretty awesome.
-
We’ll devote that lovely little "I am" space on our home page to them for the entire week - so every visitor to our site can see their profile pic and bio.
-
We’ll give them the option to have an interview feature on the site so they can tell the world at large about their idea or project or innovation or business.
-
Each weekly winner will enter the Self Starter Hall of Fame, and compete for the coveted Startacus Self Starter of the year award.
So in a nutshell, it’s free PR - free publicity - free promo. What’s not to love about that! The weekly winner will be announced each Monday so keep your eyes open and ears peeled!
If you’re hoping you could be the Self Starter of the Week, there’s a few things we should mention. Firstly, you’ve gotta be a registered member! Secondly, if you are registered, you can also email us to iam@startacus.net or tweet us @iamstartacus using the hashtag #StartacusSelfStarter if you’d like to be considered (non twitter users will of course still be considered just as much!) Also make sure your profile page and blurb is up to date and highlights why you are a self starter.
Last of all - no begging and no bribery!
Well that's it! Good luck self starters everywhere!
