Scanmatix wins inaugural Work: In Progress startup pitch competition

The innovative NI startup Scanmatix wins over the judges to secure the Work: In Progress startup pitch accolade and the £1500 cash prize.
After a competitive startup pitching event at Work: In Progress, with 8 early stage startups from across the island of Ireland taking part, Scanmatix, the NI-based complementary retail technology platform was selected as the overall winner, taking home a £1500 cash prize.
Delivered by Startacus in partnership with major sponsors, RealTime Recruitment and Version 1, Work: In Progress was a 1 day hybrid event, streamed from The Mac in Belfast , which explored a range of topics including the future of workspaces and ways of working, future jobs and talent planning, diversity, inclusion and social purpose and the hiring demands of the growing tech sector.
The Work: In Progress pitch competition, with sponsorship from Clockwise Belfast and Raise Ventures, saw 8 startups from NI and ROI pitching virtually to a judging panel featuring a host of leading startup and business luminaries. The pitching startups were Mustard, BrokerIQ, NolijWork, Sonamove, CrewApp, CyberPie, Regtick and Scanmatix. They all pitched extremely well, so it was a pretty tough call for the judges.
The winning startup, Scanmatix is a 360-degree solution for all stock movements within Retail, Wholesale and Manufacturing - sectors which, as we know, have been impacted significantly by both the pandemic and Brexit. The Scanmatix solution aims to empower businesses with data, providing them with a more efficient and more accurate way to manage stock in the workplace.
During his pitch, George Armstrong, Co-Founder, Scanmatix highlighted how improved business intelligence on stockholding can have a major impact on a business’ bottom line. He also outlined some of the pilot studies which the startup has already undertaken, including one with a leading retailer who has cited significant savings in time in addition to improved stock accuracy since implementing the Scanmatix solution.
Scanmatix has a mission to become the leading name for stocktaking and inventory management in the UK and Ireland. With positive feedback from their customers, increased orders on their books for 2022 and the ability to impress the judging panel at Work: In Progress as they did, we reckon it’s a mission that they’re well on their way to accomplishing.
We look forward to keeping an eye out for what Scanmatix does next and reporting back on their progress!
