Reskube - the remote-working resilience tech solution

by Startacus Admin
London-based startup Reskube has developed an innovative tech solution to keep you going even when your power or broadband goes down.
When we’re moving house and we spot a nice place, one of the first things we do is look up the internet speeds we can expect to get. It’s almost automatic - the importance of a strong connection can’t be understated, and in the case of moving house, bad internet might even be a deal-breaker. Not only for streaming films and music, or that pwning n00bs thing that the kids do, but with one billion people around the world now working from home, we need to maintain a strong internet connection in order to maintain our jobs! If we add to this the fact that plenty of people live in areas prone to power outages, or extreme circumstances such as rescue operations, we have a connection problem that needs to be solved.
London-based tech startup Reskube has developed that solution - their sleek, portable box addresses both of these issues in one. It sits neatly out of the way, plugged into the mains, ready to jump in when it detects a loss of either internet or power, keeping your employees turned on and online for up to 3 days with its 768Wh of storage.
It acts as a router so that, in an internet outage, it will use 4G to keep them online, but even in a normal working situation, it can be used to combine a wired internet and 4G to improve bandwidth and keep the connection strong and stable. Using a series of automated triggers and rules, it will identify and fix any connection issues in the background, before the user even knows they exist.
The Remote Desktop Management Portal gives your IT team visibility, control, and reporting, enabling them to remotely manage your employees’ Reskubes. It also speeds up the diagnosis and remediation of network or endpoint problems and the support of your remote workforce.
Reskube recently announced that they had successfully closed their 6-week crowdfunding effort with their £500,000 target met. Just prior to this, the startup won the BCI Global Continuity and Resilience Innovation Award. They will use this funding to help them start tackling power interruptions and internet poverty around the world. As they put it, “Unbroken connectivity should no longer be a luxury, but a necessity”.
