Re-imagining the High Street

by Startacus Admin
Our high streets are suffering. We all know that.
And we all know too that something’s gotta be done about it. Whether it’s supporting those independent shops which remain or starting a popup in an empty unit - we all ought to play our part in making things better.
However if you’ve got ideas for making things better on a much bigger scale, a new comp from the Technology Strategy Board could be well worth a look.
With up to £8m up for grabs, the Re-imagining the high street competition is seeking new technology enabled solutions that explore innovative approaches to addressing the challenges affecting the high street - whether it’s in retailing, service provision, logistics or travel management.
Startups, charities, whatever - all organisations are eligible to apply - provided they can demonstrate a route to market for their solutions.
Entries opened this week and if you’re interested in applying, you’ve got until noon on 5 March 2014 to get your application in.
Our advice? Don’t miss the briefing Webinar which is due to take place next Monday, 20th January 2014 - the entire application process and all the rules and regs will be outlined and discussed. Register for that Webinar right here and register for the competition itself via the TSB site.
Since regenerating our high streets has never been more important, we reckon that initiatives like this ought to be welcomed with open arms.
We’ll be keeping a keen eye on proceedings and looking forward to seeing what innovative and inspirational projects materialise. And of course - we’ll keep you guys all informed too…
