Pukket rewards social media word of mouth

by Startacus Admin

Pukket is aiming to create word of mouth on a large scale, by putting a usable, redeemable value on people’s social media impact when they help to spread word of a brand.
Content is king. A brand producing meaningful, engaging, interactable content rather than simply advertising at people finds its message reaching further and being taken on more. However, continually producing content is not easy. One way around this, as we have written about before, is user-generated content. Giving users a reason to create and share their own content that in some way includes a brand is the best advertising, as it will always be regarded more highly than the brand’s own advertising. This is, after all, how word of mouth works - we take an unaffiliated person’s word about a thing more seriously than the thing’s own word, naturally. So how about a way to get rewarded for this word of mouth?
Pukket is a London startup doing just that - putting a usable, redeemable value on people’s social media impact when they help to spread word of a brand.
And why shouldn’t people be rewarded for the work they are doing for a brand? All users need to do is connect their Instagram account to the Pukket app, and whenever they use the required hashtag and mention the brand in a post, Pukket’s automated system will identify the post and reward the user with ‘Pukkets’.
These can be exchanged for vouchers for the likes of Starbucks, Costa, Amazon, iTunes, and more. So spread the word of your favourite café, get vouchers to use on free coffee at said favourite café, and spread the word about your great experience there all over again!
Pukket was among the startups shortlisted to pitch at upSTART 18 at Digital DNA this year. We have also hosted an article by Pukket co-founder Fahim Pour, in which he discusses how he envisions a fairer future for the digital economy and online advertising.
So now you’ve read about Pukket, head over and read about why Fahim created it!
