ProtectBox - Cyber Security decisions made easy

by Startacus Admin
Cyber security gets more important with each passing day. More and more individuals and businesses go online, expand their online services, collect and store personal and payment information online, take advantage of cloud-based services, and so on. The online world is increasingly a land of opportunity for nefarious ne’er-do-wells and scoundrels and the like.
More than ever, then, cyber security is a vital part of an online existence. But how do you go about setting up protection? Hire an expert to do it for you, at great expense? Spend hours that you could be working to source the best security solution? Or do you do a quick and simple search?
Founded by Kiran Bhagotra, ProtectBox was one of the fab pitching startups at the upSTART pitch competition at this year's Digital DNA in Belfast.
Their business is a search and comparison site for cyber security options for your business.
In a similar way to comparison sites for car insurance and the like, all you do is log in, answer a few questions about your current cyber security status and your needs, and ProtectBox will search through providers to find the right match for your business. From here, it is simple to either buy the protection right away or make further enquiries. This saves a lot of time and energy for both the business in need and for the suppliers, who will have to go through less back and forth with a potential client/customer before closing the sale.
Founder Kiran has strong cyber security, resilience, e-commerce/ marketplaces, foreign affairs & machine learning expertise from careers in government, finance, industry, and not-for-profits, so she has the background experience and skills to make this a real success story - and so far so good. Kiran has just been short-listed for Security Champion in the Women in IT Awards 2018 and previously came 2nd for Women of Year in Cyber Security Awards.
Talking awards - as well as upSTART, ProtectBox (they only officially launched at the start 2017) have been finalists in awards for Techweek, INVENT 2017, Women in STEM, Cyber Security Awards, 2016 Computing Security Awards, final Top 10 at the pitch competition Slush Singapore, and they were the winner of WIRED Security 2017 Startup Showcase. You know...just in case it wasn’t promising enough to see a comparison website finding you the best cyber security solution for your business and saving you time and money…
The last time our car insurance was due for renewal, we used a comparison site and saved £600 - imagine the kind of good such a site could do for something as important to your business as cyber security.
