Prolifiko - the pocket writing coach

prolifikoWriting is easy. Writing anything semi-decent is hard. But what most non-writers don’t consider is what could be considered the hardest part of all: actually making yourself sit down and put words on your paper or screen.

The best writers in the world would never have been heard of if they hadn’t sat down and made themselves write in the first place, day after day, no matter their mood, no matter how their minds tried to wander. Writers can argue all day about what is actually the hardest part of writing, but it’s more convenient for our purposes to say it’s this!

Prolifiko founders Bec Evans and Chris Smith know this. They also know that the way for writers who struggle is simply one small step at a time. They created Prolifiko to help writers plan and make these small steps, tracking and monitoring their writing along the way. Set prolifikoyour goal, set your first small step, and then set the deadline for this step. From here, all you need to do is write, and Prolifiko will give you nudges to keep you on track as you go.

Each week, Prolifiko will send you updates on your writing progress so that you can see an overview of how far you have come. This is useful not only for staying motivated, but for noting any subtle changes in your writing pattern and working out how best to tweak your steps.

prolifikoWyl Menmuir, author of 2016’s Man Booker Prize long-listed novel The Many, used an early version of Prolifiko to write the novel, and attributes his actually getting it finished to the system. That is at least a good reason to give the free 5-day challenge a try!

And if that isn’t a good enough recommendation, the revamped Ignite accelerator has made Prolifiko one of its first 4 investments. As writers, we think it was a good choice.
