Playable City Award Winner whose idea will soon come to life on the streets of Bristol.

by Startacus Admin
You may remember that a few months ago we took a good look at the 2014 shortlisted candidates for the Playable City Awards in Bristol.
Now in its second year, the awards ask artists and creatives from around the world to propose new ways for people to engage with the open and public spaces of the city… with the winner being commissioned to bring their idea to life on the streets of Bristol.
We are delighted to report that this years winner has been announced and was our favourite of the amazing ideas which made it through to this years shortlist…
The Winner - SHADOWING
This fabulous project will enable the street lights of the city to record and playback the shadows of people who have passed underneath them. The video shows rather well how it will work but essentially as you pass underneath you will see the shadow of the person who came before you projected on the ground. Your shadows movements are then recorded becoming the shadow for the next visitor and so forth. The project hopes to create an innovative new way for people to interact with, not only the urban environment but each other as well.
