Placed - the app that aims to put the joy back into job-seeking

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Placed, the digital recruitment app that's using AI to match employers in the service sector with the next generation of talent.
The need for money in order to live doesn’t seem like the kind of thing that’s going anywhere any time soon, and until robots take all of our jobs, those are the primary means by which we make our money. In a deduction worthy of Sherlock Holmes, we have concluded, therefore, that job search platforms will remain necessary for quite some time. Those platforms can be a little overwhelming, though, and not always that user friendly, and they’re often just a bit deflating.
British startup Placed has created a digital recruitment app specifically for the service sector, built by those who know the industry inside out. The app wants to do a better job of bridging the gap between employers and Gen Z candidates using a combination of AI, engaging content from employers, and quizzes that will assess a candidate’s job suitability. The platform says that not only do these quizzes allow you to upskill and reskill, but they will help the algorithm to place you. Their aim is to match roles to people rather than CVs, by bringing the candidates’ personality and skills to the forefront. They say that with Placed, you are 3 times more likely to get hired.
You can follow the brands that you are most interested in so that you’ll get first look at new jobs posted by them, access tips and events, and with no CVs and no cover letters, you can feel confident that you are being looked at as a person and not a PDF. This benefits the employers too, who get a feel for the human that they will be hiring rather than just their credentials.
In November, Placed announced that they had raised £4 million in a funding round led by Praetura Ventures and Blackfinch Ventures. This brings their total funding to £7 million over the last 18 months.
