Perci - the startup offering multidisciplinary and holistic care to those living with cancer

by Startacus Admin
Perci is an innovative healthtech platform to support those living with cancer, all with a focus on evidence-based and research-backed care delivered by qualified professionals.
Living with cancer is already a difficult and frightening thing, often leaving people feeling isolated even before their treatment ends. Once it does, that feeling can worsen, and add to that the fact that access to after-care and support is not always easy (or there at all), and dealing with cancer in its entirety can be just as unpleasant as you’d expect. But this after-care and support does not need to be difficult and inaccessible.
London-based health-tech startup Perci was created to help people living with cancer to deal with the often unexpected problems that come from the cancer itself or from the treatment. This high-quality, multidisciplinary care holistically covers the physical, mental, social, and emotional aspects of the recovery process. This is not designed to take the place of in-person care, but to plug the gaps in current offerings, as the co-founders put it. Everything that the platform offers is evidence-based and backed by the UK’s leading oncologists, and they are guided by doctors and cancer surgeons on the company’s board.
Users book an appointment for a video call with a carefully-vetted professional in whatever area of care and support they are looking for, and securely fill out their health information and medical history for the expert to refer to during the call. After this, the expert will develop a care plan and provide advice, all tailored to the individual. Appointments are on-demand, with most waiting times only 1-2 days. All health records created and added to on the Perci platform are available to patients, so that they can be easily shared with GPs, oncologists, etc. Appointments come in 3 options: 20 minutes, 40 minutes, and 60 minutes, and cost £10, £40, and £60 respectively.
With the isolation and even a sense of abandonment that can come with the end of cancer treatment, when you are suddenly on your own to deal with after effects and recovery, a support platform full of experts who can ensure that you are not alone is an invaluable tool.
