Packfleet - transforming the delivery sector

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Packfleet, the London-based B2B logistics startup that's creating a technology-first, customer-focused, green delivery experience.
Every day, literally dozens - or perhaps even more - of packages are delivered around the country. Maybe even the world ;) Sometimes delivery drivers hurl them at your front door or face like an American football player or dropkick them onto the roof in their attempts to speed up delivery times and deliver - clever pun - a better service.
Of course, behind the scenes, things are often more of a mess, with drivers not being paid for time they sit waiting to get loaded up, being underpaid in general, being given unreasonable and even dangerous time demands, and more. So how do we improve deliveries for the customer, the retailer, and the drivers at the same time?
London-based B2B startup Packfleet is looking to disrupt the delivery sector by providing improved logistics technology. They want to provide small businesses with the ability to not only compete with the likes of Amazon’s quick deliveries, but beat them.
Among the services that the startup’s platform provides is customer support chat, live tracking, and the ability to change the delivery address while the package is out for delivery. In the process, they intend to make the process greener, operating electric vans, using advanced route planning, and planting one tree for every successful delivery.
Packfleet operates a next-day delivery experience with a 99.9% success rate so far, and prides themselves on carefully handling fragile packages without the need for over-the-top padded packaging and ‘fragile’ stickers on every visible surface of the package, but also provides automatic compensation if anything goes wrong. On top of all of this, the startup doesn’t treat its drivers like robots, instead paying them the Real Living Wage and giving them the time to deliver each package safely and with care.
In April, Packfleet announced that they had raised £8 million in funding in an oversubscribed seed round led by Creandum. The funding will allow the startup to seek partnerships with larger retailers, and start to think about expanding beyond London.
