NuUnlimited - 2nd generation restaurant tech innovation

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on NuUnlimited, the startup that's created a complete front of house solution for hospitality businesses and their customers with a focus on food as well as orders
Whether you’re vegan or particular about only eating organic food or even have an allergy, it can be anywhere from a little awkward to pretty difficult to eat out and order in and be sure that you aren’t eating things you shouldn’t be.
You know the annoyance of having to ask question after question of the waiters, trying to get to the bottom of whether this dish will set off your rare allergy to cucumber, because there’s only so much that restaurants can do on their menus to make diners aware of what’s in the food and where it came from. So perhaps something a little more in-depth that people can peruse to tell them everything they want to know about the dishes would be of benefit to all parties.
London-based startup NuUnlimited has developed this something, in the form of their free app, me~nu®.
Participating restaurants can put a QR code on their menus that customers can scan into the app to view information about each dish, and every location and business the ingredients have passed through, including allergens, sustainability, dietary preferences and, coming soon, nutrition, carbon footprint, ethics, and more. Just by pointing your phone at the menu, you’ll have access to a wealth of information, from the basics, to how and from where the ingredients were sourced and how the dish is made
This app is only one of a suite of tools NuUnlimited is working on. Their suite will be capable of replacing any system a restaurant already has in place, giving them one place to go for interactive menus, POS, order and pay from table, reservations, and home delivery/takeaway ordering.
NuUnlimited is currently raising investment on Seedrs, and have already raised 65% of their goal at the time of writing. With a market expected to be worth over £91 billion by 2022 in the UK alone, now is certainly the right time for a startup to be bringing a food-first product like this to market, and we look forward to seeing more.
