Innovation abounds in Northern Ireland so we thought it only right to share with you the top Northern Ireland-based startups that are worth watching in 2021...
We’re based in Northern Ireland. And whilst we haven’t been outside to check for months, we know that there are lots of fab digital startups here! Some are still at a very early stage, some are a little more established but have been thriving over the past year.
We thought it only right to share with you some of the innovative Northern Irish startups that have recently caught our eye and that we reckon are worth keeping an eye on in 2021. This isn’t a definitive list though - we may well be adding more startups over time!
Bright is a new energy tech startup offering 100% renewable, green electricity at what they say is Northern Ireland’s cheapest standard variable rate tariff.
Esther is a 3-step pocket-to-pocket, peer-to-peer giving app that allows you to give to some of the UK’s most vulnerable, working with only trusted charities and ensuring that the recipient gets 100% of your donation. They’ve been around for over two years, but we think 2021 is their year.
Kairos is built for elite sports players and training teams, bringing together scheduling, communications, and player management into one place to help maximise potential through planning.
Material Evolution transforms the chemistry of cement using local waste streams. Their first cement mix is made from 95% waste, and they say it is 10x stronger, 5x more durable, and reduces carbon consumption by 85%.
Nine has an e-commerce platform built specifically for those who offer products on a subscription. Add your logo, branding, information, and products and be ready to sell in 9 minutes. Only just launched, but expecting good things.
Elemental has an award-winning self-referral digital tool for person-centred, social prescribing care to help create a culture of self-care and independence. They’ve had a cracking 2020 and we reckon this award-winning health-tech will have an even better 2021.
Budibase is an open-source platform for building and shipping business apps 50x faster. It’s time-saving and easy to use, and you can have a finished app in 4 steps.
Linc Technology is taking aim at the luxury jewellery industry, increasing engagement, reducing returns by accurately measuring ring size using image recognition, and providing data insights. Making some early noise and we expect 2021 to be a good year for this early-stage team.
Sonrai is a cloud and data technology startup that conceptualises raw data into actionable insights for the healthcare industry using AI-driven deep learning.
This is the perfect time for a startup like Community Calling, which helps people and organisations who are in need of support to get it, be they isolated, elderly, or in a vulnerable situation. This is the kind of startup that we can see rapidly growing outside of NI.
