Nooka Spaces - the future of remote work

by Startacus Admin
The Cork-based startup that has created Nooka Spaces, the world's first network of smart proximity office spaces designed for people who work remotely.
Those of us lucky enough to be able to continue our work from home have been doing so for quite some time now. Though many countries are returning to some semblance of normality, a lot people are continuing to work from home, be it because theirs is not a country yet opening back up, because they prefer to work from home, or because so many businesses have discovered the benefits of having their employees working remotely, saving them a lot of money.
Working from home comes with its unique disadvantages and stresses, however, including the mental fatigue that can come from sitting in the same environment all day, every day, and not moving any further than the sofa beside your desk at the end of the day.
This is where Cork-based startup Nooka Space comes in with its selection of teeny, tiny smart home offices. These offices are self-contained pods that are rented on a monthly basis and can be placed in your own back garden, so you can have an office to leave the house for, without leaving home! The pods come in either a single-workspace option or double-workspace option, and they come fully furnished with height-adjustable desk and chair, glass whiteboard, wardrobe, and smart features like wi-fi, air conditioning and lighting, IoT sensors, and a lot more
There are variations of both the single- and double-workspace options to further personalise the pod to your needs, and they start from €299 per month and €399 per month respectively. Nooka Spaces can be delivered anywhere in Europe with a one-off payment of €1,000. Once installed, you can use it as often as you need, for as long as you need it, and if you don’t want to return it but are, say, going on holiday, you can re-rent to someone else who needs some temporary workspace.
An office in a box is a great idea in a still fairly uncertain time, and with the rise of remote working, which started even before the pandemic, we think we’ll be seeing more and more of these recognisable little pods dotted around in people’s gardens.
