New charity-owned payroll giving venture launches in the UK

WeAreGoodGiving, an innovative and pioneering collaboration between five leading UK charities aims to boost payroll giving
An innovative technology-led venture aimed at increasing the accessibility and uptake of payroll giving has just been launched by 5 leading UK charities.
WeAreGoodGiving Ltd is a collaboration between Barnardo’s, Crisis, The Royal British Legion, RNIB and WaterAid, with the support of innovation consultancy Good Innovation and it will be led by Richard Packman, a seasoned entrepreneur and digital expert.
Each of the charities will take an equal share in the business and use a technology-led approach to reach new and untapped audiences. Since traditional fundraising approaches like mass events and shops have been significantly disrupted during the pandemic, this initiative will pool together the charities unique insights, expertise and ambitions for the benefit of all.
Richard Packman, Managing Director at WeAreGoodGiving Ltd said: “Giving through payroll is the most tax efficient way for employees of any company to donate to any charity of their choice. Yet over 80% of companies don’t offer it, just 4% of UK employees do it, and most don’t even know about it! We will put payroll giving back on the map, drive a huge amount of new income for charities and enable employees of any size business to support the causes they care about in the most efficient and convenient way.”
We love hearing about pioneering initiatives like this which is why we were delighted when Liz Choonara, Head of Entrepreneurship at Crisis was a key speaker at our recent LEVELUP event and shared her insights on harnessing the power of entrepreneurship to end homelessness.
We’re sure that WeAreGoodGiving Ltd is going to be a huge success - good luck to all involved!
