NACUE Varsity Pitch 17

by Startacus Admin
NACUE (National Association of College and University Entrepreneurs) is a fab charity dedicated to the promotion and support of student and graduate engagement in entrepreneurship and enterprise. Through student-led enterprise societies, programmes, and events, NACUE provides young people with inspiration, support, skill development, and opportunities. The organisation was founded by university students and now represents over 200 college and university enterprise societies, representing over 30,000 students.
The NACUE Varsity Pitch Competition is the biggest business competition in the UK for students and recent graduates. The competition winner will take home £10,000 for their startup on Monday the 13th of November.
The competition consists of 6 categories, of which competitors can enter 2, via the submission of a 60-second video pitch. On 5 October, online public voting will open for 6 days, and the winner will be fast-tracked to the finals. After this, the semi-finalists - 5 businesses from each category - will present a 2-minute pitch to decide the 6 finalists. These finalists, plus the people’s vote winner, will go through training in pitching and business plan development with a panel of mentors in a dedicated bootcamp ahead of the finals. Finally, on 13 November, the beginning of Global Entrepreneurship Week, another pitch event will decide who takes home the £10,000.
Applications for the competition had closed on 19 July; however, due to the number of communications they received after the deadline, it was decided to reopen for another round of applications from 22 August to 4 October - happy days.
So if you are a student or recent graduate with a business idea, get your camera out and start recording your pitch.
Head on over to the NACUE Varsity Pitch Competition page for all the details on the competition categories, timescales, and FAQ’s, and good luck to all who apply.
