Museum in a Box - replica museum objects in a tiny box

by Startacus Admin
We are loving the look and sound of Museum in a Box - an edtech company from London who are aiming to increase the accessibility of museums and their objects with an innovative interactive handling box. Intrigued?
Museum in a Box - is pretty much just that. It is a box of miniature objects found in museums from around the world that you can have sent to your school, office or to home. Inside the box you get a package of themed replica cultural objects - both miniature 3D prints and 2d postcards that reprepresent 2D pieces of museum work and artwork.
The extra fab part here is that the box also includes a ‘brain’ (a small computer) that will interact with both the 3D printed objects and the 2D prints when the objects are placed on the ‘brain’.
With museums needing to provide better accessibility to their exhibitions and the education sector also needing to provide educational content that inspires and interests, we think Museum in a Box seems like a simple, but quite ingenious idea. Putting museum collections and expert knowledge literally into the hands of the general public is surely an ambition worth admiring and supporting after all.
