Movewise - the startup that's pioneering a better way to sell property

by Startacus Admin

Selling your house? Movewise is a London-based PropTech startup that works with your best local agents to sell your property faster and at a higher price

The average time to sell a house is 4 months which, while not terrible, is longer than most people would like something so big and so stressful to take. So perhaps we need a platform that will help to speed up that process, making sure only hard working estate agents are selling the house.
London-based startup Movewise has developed such a platform, in which it employs data insights to find the best local agents and then interviews and negotiates with them on your behalf.
They take the photos and make the floorplans that can be used by any agent, which speeds up the process of switching agents should that become necessary, and they monitor the process and chase up the agents where necessary. If the house does not sell within the first 4 weeks, a second agent is brought in, and the first is let go if they are unsuccessful in the first 8 weeks.
After 13 weeks, a third agent can be brought in. In this way, you can avoid the inevitable decision by that agent that the price needs to come down until all the evidence points to that being the only viable option. When offers do come in, Movewise will help assess the offer and advise, and then they will continue to manage the progression of the sale when an offer is accepted.
With all of this management, not only does your own stress ease, but Movewise says that they save you around 10-20 hours worth of phone calls and emails to the agent, and they will get your house sold an average of 2 months quicker that the normal one-agent approach, while protecting against unnecessary loss of sale price, with an 84% success rate versus the 50% of the average estate agent.
In August, Movewise announced that they had raised £600,000 in a round led by Hambro Perks; Paul Forster, the co-founder of Indeed; and Simon Franks, co-founder of LoveFilm. This brought their total funding to £1.1m, and will be used to improve their overall process and expand.
