Mortgages are an unnerving prospect to first time buyers. It’s that thing we’ve all heard that grown ups have and that stresses them out, and suddenly we are adults and we’re faced with renting forever or getting a mortgage. Even when we do rent, landlords can often be almost resentful that they have to rent to you and push you to get a mortgage on the place instead. But we don’t want to, David; we don’t want to! Anyway...a mortgage can be a liberating, exciting, big step towards driving your life forwards. So where are the startups making mortgages simpler and quicker? It’s funny you should ask…
Cheshire-based Mojo Mortgages is a startup dedicated to just this. 
The mortgage broker app compares mortgages from over 80 providers and provides you with a personal recommendation in 15 minutes. You also get access to free personalised advice, and the dedicated application manager takes care of the complicated, off-putting admin for you.
The app uses Mojo Mortgages to take users through the process and its algorithms ensure that the platform is always impartial and seeks out only the best option for you, based on simple but vital questions, not what will make them the most money.
Since their inception, Mojo Mortgages has helped 7,000 customers find the right mortgage for them, collectively saving them almost £3.5 million in broker fees. So far, more than 16,000 users have created an account on the app and Mojo’s team now stands at 54 tech and mortgage experts. This growth represents the need for an app like this in an increasingly complicated world in which we just want to sit and watch cat videos without the stress of things like mortgage paperwork.
We think they will do well, and we wish them luck in the 2019 British Bank Awards where they are currently competing.
