miFuture - the innovative careers app for young people

by Startacus Admin

miFuture - The Tech4Good startup that's created a better way of connecting young people with the world of work

We simultaneously find that there is somehow a vast sea of potential jobs and yet not enough to choose from; nothing that fits what we want to do. That indefinable thing that we want to do that may or may not exist as a career, we don’t know because we don’t know what it is. It makes sense that in this digital age, we should have app to help with this.
Welsh startup miFuture has this app. On Twitter, they have called it Tinder for jobs, which is a succinct way of putting it. You do, after all, create a profile and start receiving matches. Opportunities come in the form of not only job openings, but also training, courses, and volunteer positions. As with certain dating apps, all you need to do is swipe right to apply to an opportunity, left to decline it, or up to save it while you mull it over. For jobs not on the app, miFuture creates a CV for you, which can be printed or emailed.
The miFuture app is free to use and is built by young people (who ironically created their own jobs!) for young people.
No one can see your profile and private information except the job providers you swipe right on, and the app tracks any changes in these opportunities so that you can spend your time elsewhere.
miFuture has been Insider Magazine’s ‘Rising Star’, a Tech4Good finalist, and is a Careers Week Welsh Ambassador and TechStars Rising Star semi-finalist. We look forward to seeing what - wait for it - their future will be!
