If you’re developing an app or a startup that you feel is going to provide real innovation in the music industry, you ought to be applying for midemlab. Now in its’ sixth year, midemlab is the ultimate pitch platform for anyone providing innovative digital solutions to help music makers, brands and executives reach, engage and monetize their audiences.
To be eligible to apply to the midemlab competition, you must be a recently established startup i.e. (less than 3 years’ old), have no more than 10 employees, be already launched or in beta and be truly original and innovative and of course be appealing to a global market.
This year, the competition is open to ideas in any of the following categories:
- Music discovery, recommendation and creation
- Marketing and social engagement, including social media, consumer analytics, geolocation, and crowdfunding
- Direct to consumer sales and content monetisation including distribution, e-commerce, payment solutions and ticketing
An international panel of music and technology experts will select up to 30 finalists who will get the opportunity to pitch their projects at midem in January 2013.
