Microsoft Cloud Events- For tech businesses on the rise

by Startacus Admin
If you are a games developer, an app startup or indeed just someone who loves techy things then this one is for you…
The lovely folks over at Microsoft have got their heads well and truly in the clouds with a couple of events that are on the way over the coming weeks. You'll need to get your skates on though as there's only a small ‘window’ of opportunity to bag yourself a place (well we couldn't let that go by could we?) Here’s the details of what’s going on;
Cloud Gaming Summit 26th and 27th March
Microsoft have teamed up with The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment (or UKie) to bring a two-day free event especially for all you fun loving games developers. Now, we can't profess to be experts on the whole cloud gaming thing, but even to us it looks like it’s shaping up to be a rather interesting programme.
Day One - Cloud gaming industry briefing - This will include expert talks on some of the most exciting developments in the world of cloud gaming at the moment - including such devilishly riveting topics as ‘Games as a service’, ‘Understanding the gamer’ and ‘Cloud gaming best practices’. There will also be a great opportunity to hobnob with the industry's movers and shakers at an informal networking event in the evening.
Day Two - Cloud gaming developer day - To cap off the summit there will be a day tailored to the needs of developers in this most fast paced of industries. It’s another jam-packed day which will see attendees treated to a range of tech talks including; ‘Using the MS cloud and Azure mobile services to build a backend for iOS, Android or a web’, Using Gamesparks service to power your game and ‘Building data analytics for games using Windows Azure and HD Insight’. So in essence some jolly clever stuff! There will of course also be another opportunity to make some useful contacts in an evening’s networking event.
The Summit will run in London on the 26th and 27th March so although time is running out, it’s still not too late to nab yourself a space by clicking here.
Global Windows Azure Bootcamp London 29th March
Known as GWAB in the industry, this now annual Microsoft event will offer plenty of opportunity to get your hands on the latest and greatest in the world of web and mobile technologies… and the great news is, it’s free!
There will be plenty of demos and training available as well as the opportunity to hear experts share their prowess on a number of topics including ‘How to build a great web application in 1 hour, ‘Building a .NET backend for your mobile application’ and ‘Scaling out your web and mobile applications’ .
Rather excitingly there will also be a mini hack in the afternoon where prizes will be awarded for the most innovating web or mobile application using Windows Azure Websites and related tech or Windows Azure Mobile services.
It’s not too late to register for a place by clicking here, but better make it snappy!
