Some great news for Startups in the Manchester area who are looking for an awesome growth opportunity right on their doorstep.
The teams from CISCO and Manchester Science Partnerships have teamed up to create Mi-IDEA, a post-accelerator designed to foster and nurture digital innovation in the North West of England.
The establishment of the Mi-IDEA centre follows on from the success of Cisco’s London post-accelerator centre and will offer a pre-seed programme for startups that will provide an empowering environment where they can grow in confidence and capability as they scale up to sustainable businesses.
On November 1st the team will be hosting a startup meetup / networking event to showcase some of the things that Mi-IDEA can offer to local startups and entrepreneurs. As well as that, the event will give attendees the opportunity to make new connections within the Manchester startup ecosystem and meet with other like-minded people doing innovative things.
During the networking event the Head of Innovation for Cisco UK & Ireland, Tom Kneen, and the Head of Innovation for MSP, Anne Dornan, will share insights into some of the stuff you can get involved in with alongside Cisco and MSP, as well as being on-hand to answer any questions that you might have about moving your business forward.
The Mi-IDEA centre will initially be focussed on four key areas:
-
Digital Health
-
Digital Creative
-
Smart Cities
-
Internet of things
With collaboration at its core, Mi-IDEA will be a digital living lab, showcasing the very latest in Cisco technology alongside the innovations of the companies in residence, providing an inspiring environment to spark innovation and a place where public, academic and private sectors can immerse themselves in the power of the possible and work together to transform their industries.
The networking event will be taking place from 18:00 to 21:30 on Tuesday 1st of November.
You can reserve your ticket here- you only have until October 14th to RSVP, so look sharp!
