Meetup to become part of WeWork

by Startacus Admin
So there you have it - earlier today we heard that global platform Meetup (they provide a space for folk to arrange and attend 'in-real-life' meetups) were to be acquired by global office space providers WeWork (they provide spaces and offices for entrepreneurial folk and businesses to work, co-work...and meetup).
And then Meetup posted this...
It does make good business sense if you think about it - WeWork have fab spaces all over the globe and Meetup need fab space, the world over. Simples.
WeWork as the bigger of the two giants (they have already reportedly raised more than $6 billion from investors - & apparently could be after more) are at natural partner to Meetup, and as the two brands are already so well entwined, it really now in hindsight, was only a matter of time... (hindsight is always good like that.)
If only there was a platform called Startacus that writes about startups, scaleups, self-starters, places, spaces that could embed Meetup and WeWork API onto it's site - further linking the ecosystem together...
...links article to WeWork and Meetup founders and hopes for the best ;)
Find out more about Meetup being acquired by WeWork via the full Meetup announcement.
