Lumen - the dating app for the over 50's

by Startacus Admin

We take a look at Lumen - The new dating app to help over 50's to meet genuine like-minded singles.

inding someone like-minded, compatible, attractive to you, and all the other tick boxes becomes harder the older we get simply because there are fewer of us who are single. One solution to this is the ever more popular online dating scene but generic, one-size-fits-all dating sites and apps aren’t particularly enjoyable places, particularly the older we get. And that’s where Lumen comes in.
London-based startup Lumen is, you may have gathered, a dating app for the over-50s.
The app focuses on members’ interests and finding people with matching interests, encouraging genuine, quality conversations. The app’s profile requirements help to ensure safety as well as this genuineness: every profile is verified by staff via a private selfie that will never be seen by anyone else, users must upload a minimum of 3 quality pictures that clearly show themselves, and a detailed bio is a must.
The Lumen app is free and available for both iOS and Android devices.
Just recently, Lumen raised £3.5m in seed funding from Andrey Andreev, the founder of Badoo, which will go towards expanding its reach after launch, which happened on 4 September.
We think life can be hard enough for many folk, without making it difficult to find someone to experience it with, so a simple dating app dedicated to genuine people seems like a great idea to us!
