Like Locals offer self-guided tours with a difference

by Startacus Admin
Experience cities like a local, thanks to London-based Like Locals, the startup aiming to provide self-guided trails crafted by a community of local insiders...

So while the benefits of a local guide are obvious, wouldn’t it be good if you could have those benefits and keep all the benefits of going it alone?
Travel-tech startup Like Locals thinks the same thing, and they have created a free app to help make it a reality. Just as a local would guide you around, helping you discover hidden gems, avoid tourist traps, and filling you in on the city’s history, you can open up the app and choose a ‘Footprint’ to do the same.
Footprints are experiences created by locals to take you step by step through a city via specific locations. First, you choose your mood, what you feel like doing, and a wealth of knowledge and experiences will open up for you in this list of Footprints. Whether you are looking to explore the city’s history, art and culture, sample foody delights, hike the surrounding trails, experience the nightlife, or countless other experiences, Like Locals will have something for you.
Like Locals only started life in March of this year, launching in London, Budapest, and Barcelona. In July, they added Athens to the list, starting with 15 Footprints around the famous city. With the addition of another 3 cities planned over the coming winter, Like Locals looks set to make itself a must-have app for any holiday you are thinking of taking.
