Less than 1 week to apply for global accelerator

by Startacus Admin

Attention founders with a tech-focused startup!
Do you need some additional support with development and market potential?
There is less than one week left to apply for UK based global accelerator StartPlanetNI!
The 3-month intensive programme will begin in September 2016 in Belfast, and having had a very successful first cohort complete the programme in recent months, the team is planning for even greater success in the autumn. It is a chance to join what is recognised as one of the UK’s fastest growing tech clusters.
The programme has been specifically designed for technology-focused startups who have (ideally) been in operation for 24 months or less, have a business with immediate global market potential, and have a product which has been built to at least MVP stage.
Sound like you?
The programme has space for up to 10 companies and applications are welcome from across the UK and Ireland, and International markets. Five international startups will join with five Northern Ireland startups to share their accelerator journeys.
On offer is a comprehensive programme providing a mix of equity investment, mentoring, co-working space, business support, and the potential for further investment. The programme, which has been created with the support of NI’s regional economic development agency Invest NI, requires a small 6% equity stake in your business in exchange for participation on the programme.
What’s On Offer?
Each company who is successfully selected by StartPlanetNI will receive;
-
total focus on developing your business from a world class programme team
-
equity investment of £15,000, with the opportunity to gain up to £40,000 investment on completion of the 3 month programme
-
3 months co-working space, with an additional 6 month extension without charge
-
Additional significant opportunity for post accelerator investment
-
Potential follow-on support from Invest Northern Ireland
-
Guidance from a host of talented entrepreneurs and mentors
The World’s First ‘Founders Fund’
The team at StartPlanetNI have found a unique and innovative way of promoting and encouraging the spirit of collaboration which is so often fundamental to the success of an accelerator programme.
Each participating team will be given the opportunity to join an optional ‘Founders Fund’. This is a unique model in which each participating business invests a very small percentage of their equity for shares in a fund formed for the benefit of and to be split by all the companies taking part in the programme. This equity is shared amongst all the founders contributing to the ‘founders fund’ thus creating an outcome where each company benefits from the success of their fellow participants.
The deadline for applications is Friday 27th May so you will need to complete your application ASAP if you want to be considered.
But before you do that, check out some of the recent tips, advice and insights which the team at StartPlanetNI have shared with the Startacus community:
