Lean Startup Machine comes to Belfast

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus, we are all for any free or cost effective training, workshops, or mentoring that helps you take an early stage business idea, be it big or small, and take it forward (or not as the case may be!) in a positive or productive way.
So step forward the Lean Startup Machine - no it’s not a fitness boot camp - it’s a three day workshop for building a successful business.
Lean Startup Machine (or LSM for short) aims to teach you a process for discovering which of your ideas or products will succeed in your marketplace and which won't.
In a way then a little like a fitness bootcamp, LSM is an immersive, 48-hours educational experience, that gets your business nice n' fit for the real world, and fit for purpose too.
But enough of the fitness analogies - what's it really all about?
As some of you will know, “Lean Startup” is a term coined by Eric Ries while he was an Advisor to the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins. It’s based on the new management processes he employed while Chief Technology Officer at IMVU, one of Silicon Valley’s most successful startups. As Eric Ries is heavily involved in Lean Startup Machine, well there you have the natural name connection that links all three. Simples.
In essence, Lean Startup Machine is a three day workshop & educational series, with a focus on teaching founders a process through case studies and hands-on mentoring. A little like Startup Weekend, but perhaps a little earlier on in the business concept process. It might be that you just have an idea, or need extra help with a developing idea, but the global roadshow that is the Lean Startup Machine is certainly worth considering if you reckon that its three intensive days of workshops and mentoring will give you the muscles that your idea deserves.
Now for some good news - especially if you’re based in Ireland. LSM is coming to Belfast and since we’ve got a focus on Belfast as our Startup City for May - we’re chuffed to announce that if you’d like to go along to LSM and you’re a Startacus member - you’ll get a 20% discount on the price of the weekend tickets.
