KonneKt - Crowdfunding for Isolated Kids in Hospital

by Startacus Admin
Ever come across something and it makes you feel that warm glow of philanthropy and good will inside? No? Maybe that twinge of empathy you get from a really nice idea?
Well, we think you’re about to.
KonneKT has a simple premise; it's a way for sick children, who have to spend their days in an isolation unit, to play with others. It’s simply a set of magnetic shapes and pieces that can be applied to windows between rooms, or even windows to doors for parents to play with their kids.
It’s a sandbox idea of a game, where the pieces can be whatever they’re needed to be, the kids can create artwork with it in the window, or they can lay it out to make a chess board, checkers, or anything they can think of! That’s not even the best part, because it works on windows, children that aren’t in the room are also able to play with each other with their own pieces as the magnets don’t affect each other.
The company behind this is currently crowdfunding the idea, but adding an interesting twist; your backing can also act as a donation to the hospital of your choice. If you choose to back the campaign, you can choose to have your reward of a set donated to any hospital you like, or you can pledge more money, get a set to the hospital and to yourself OR you can have the two sets donated. How cool is that?
Their goal is to raise enough money to get the game in 100 hospitals, over a 40 Day campaign.
Just a nice idea to brighten up your day guys – If you’re at all interested in the idea, check out their Kickstarter page, and keep up to date on their twitter.
