KITKAT Sustainability Project to offer $50k to pilot a proof-of-concept in market

by Startacus Admin
Leading brands across all industries and sectors have an incredible opportunity to use their role for good. As one of the world’s most recognizable food brands, KitKat is uniquely placed to positively impact the environment and the communities where Nestlé operates.
Through the Nestlé Cocoa Plan, Nestlé is working hard to improve the lives of cocoa farmers and the quality of their products.

The KitKat Sustainability Project challenge is open to a whole range of ideas, from apps to AR experiences. Startups can apply to pitch on stage at The Next Big Thing at ad:tech London and one winner has the opportunity to partner with Nestlé to pilot a proof-of-concept in the market, funded by $50,000 US.
Interested startups can apply via the Nestlé open innovation platform HENRi@Nestlé. The KITKAT Sustainability Project is looking for startups to apply and try and answer / solve two key questions:
How can Nestlé bring home the benefit and value of our sustainability practices to our farmers, communities and consumers? And how can they build on progress so far to allow the KITKAT brand to make an even bigger impact?
Shortlisted startups who’ve applied to the KITKAT Sustainability Project will be invited to pitch at The Next Big Thing - part of ad:tech London 2017 on the 29th & 30th November (so keep those dates in your diary!).
Startups who apply should consider how they can:
- Create an experience or platform that will bring Nestlé sustainability initiatives to life.
- Show KITKAT’s customers the impact they can have and demonstrate just how much social and environmental sustainability can be improved when Nestlé set their minds to supporting their partners responsibly, ethically and proactively.
- The solution should be something new, innovative, credible and engaging. Ideally, they would like there to be a direct link between interacting with the platform and supporting the Nestlé Cocoa Plan project.
The chosen startup will have the opportunity to pilot their products and become an active part of the overall Nestlé ambition to promote fair and sustainable farming.
Applications must be made by 8pm (GMT) on 12th November 2017. After reviewing all the applications, around five companies will be invited to pitch at The Next Big Thing on 29th-30th November.
Good luck to all that apply!
