Kick Cards for Startups Want to Stack the Deck in your Favour

by Startacus Admin
It’s like Cards Against Humanity for your startup, except nothing like that!
Kick Cards are created for any business to keep themselves from falling into the trap of apathy, but are particularly useful for startups and first time entrepreneurs.
Any business should be trying to think outside the box, but when it comes to actually doing that, how do you go about it? It’s healthy to question your business model, your team, your product, and every other aspect of your business, but chances are you will only come up with the same questions you’ve been asking since the start, and those may no longer be helpful.
A deck of cards full of prompts, questions, and exercises is, therefore, an invaluable tool for keeping things fresh.
The questions that the cards make you ask yourself aren’t straightforward ‘Are you doing a good job?’ type ones, but rather a range of outside-the-box questions that will make you look at your business from perspectives you may not have considered, and bring up issues that you may otherwise have missed.
For example, a card giving the scenario of hiring a single employee tomorrow and asking what their role in the company would be changes your mindset from what you can currently do and what you can currently afford to simply considering what you would do with this person if they turned up for work tomorrow. This small switch in thinking could end up highlighting an aspect of your business that needs work or a role that needs filling.
Creator James Rutherford, a Web Service Developer / CTO for Hire / Creative Technologist and previous mentor with the Ignite Accelerator, has spent a number of years developing these cards and has tested them with many businesses to great effect.
Some of these business people were the first to back the Kickstarter campaign, which is probably why Kick Cards reached their goal within 18 hours and is currently sitting at almost double its Kickstarter goal, which is running until 22 June.
So why not take a look and see how these cards can help further stack the deck in your favour.
