Jarvo - get the workspace experience you need and deserve

by Startacus Admin
Remote working with a difference - Jarvo is a startup enabling homeowners to share workspaces within their neighbourhood which remote professionals can book out by the day.
One third of the UK workforce still works from home, months after the lockdowns have lifted. For many, this is a good situation - crawl out of bed in the morning 10 minutes before shift (not advisable), make some coffee, and sit down at the dinner table - or at this point, most work-from-homers will have their home office set up - with your dog beside you or your cat lying on the keyboard and get to work.
You’re right there when your children get home from school. But there are challenges to working from home as well, even before we take into account the current skyrocketing of energy prices. Sitting in the same environment that you live and relax in can be detrimental to the work-life balance, especially if you barely leave the house because of it.
Startup Jarvo is making some changes to the way we work remotely. Sure, we can look for an office space to work from, but the state of mind that working from home can put people in can be a good thing for our work, so what if you want to keep working from home, just…not your home? Jarvo is giving people a way to open up their homes - or at least a little piece of them - for people looking for a space to work from, and make a little extra income at the same time.
The platform is designed with the goal of allowing people to find great workspaces within a 15 minute walk, wherever they live. It also means that people with some spare room at home can make a little extra income. Forget cafés and out of hours restaurants - only private homes are listed on the site, comfortable, ready for work, and…homey.
On July 29, Jarvo started a Seedrs campaign, which was fully funded on…July 29. Within 42 seconds of the campaign going live, the £200,000 target was met, which easily surpasses Monzo’s 2016 funding record of 96 seconds. It’s safe to say that the platform is well-liked and we’re not the only ones who see promise in it. With over 1,000 people offering their spaces, and over 13,500 users wanting to find space near them, we don’t think it will take long for the platform to take hold internationally.
