Innovation in recruitment thanks to London-based startup AnyGood, in the form of talent crowdsourcing for professional level roles

Recruitment needs to be shaken up. Disrupted. Think, our articles on Applied - the recruitment platform to help you hire fairer and Personably, the SaaS startup that makes the onboarding experience for new staff members easier.
London-based startup AnyGood? is aiming to provide that disruption in the form of talent crowdsourcing for professional level roles in sectors such as Technology, HR, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Change, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Risk and Strategy.
AnyGood? is addressing the failures that it sees in recruitment that they say result in significant time to hire, and a focus on quantity over quality that means employers and suitable candidates both lose out. It is doing so by ensuring that candidates come highly recommended for a specific role by a member of AnyGood?’s diverse network of professionals.
Recommender and recommendee have a real life connection, meaning that potential employers can be assured that the recommendation comes from a real knowledge of the person’s capabilities and suitability. By crowdsourcing talent this way, there’s more credibility, more opportunity, and less scope for CVs to be blindly distributed.
Because of the difference to a recruitment agency, fees for AnyGood? are suggested to be lower. They charge a fixed £6,500 fee, of which members receive a £1,500 share. Based on their activity and value to the platform, they could also earn a share of 10% of the platform’s annual profit. This is great incentive for members to not only be active, but to show their value by not simply recommending friends and family, but genuinely suitable candidates.
At the end of February, AnyGood? will launch a crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs, so look out for that - we’ll then see if the crowd thinks it’s any good too...
