InnoApps: App Competition Opportunity

by Startacus Admin
When Startacus got tweeted (is that the right terminology?) the other day asking to give a shout out about an App themed competition that is closing asap for entries, we thought we could do better than just tweet about it - hence this rather speedy news post to tell all…
With a tagline of ‘Innoapps: Get empowered to App the World around you’, you can guess this is a competition that involves social impact / social inclusion and using the technology that’s pretty much at everyone’s fingertips.
The aim of InnoApps is to not only help develop a Windows phone App, but to develop an App that can be used to help others in the process. With three key themes, we’ve highlighted below the basics of what they’re looking for:
-
E- Skills - developing some kind of App that can help bridge the gap between the skills required by employers and those used by European youths.
-
Entrepreneurship - many young people do not consider entrepreneurship as a career option. How could you create an App that challenges this, or helps develop creativity, innovation and enterprise?
-
E-Participation - sharing knowledge, skills, networks and communities. Could you create an App that helps people talk, communicate and engage with each other?
InnoApps is a four month pan-European challenge that will provide mentoring and commercialisation support. On top of that there is a special female developer prize to highlight a female role model within the tech sector. This is the tricky bit though - the closing date is fast approaching and the comp will be closing for entries on the 8th September, so you really need to get your skates on if you fancy applying…
As this is a competition to support young EU based tech developers, an age limit of 26 ( at the time of entry) is in place and a max three minute video and such like needs to be produced as part of the application. To help here’s a handy link to all the detail and small print http://innoapps.eu/innoapply as we are simply the messengers to the opportunitity after all!
Good luck to all that apply and remember...time is ticking!!
