IgniteNI looks to build on legacy with 2nd programme and San Fran base
by Startacus Admin
The IgniteNI Accelerator is aiming to put investment-ready tech companies on a global stage, thanks to their new San Francisco 'landing pad'.
With applications set to close midnight 20th January, Startacus thought it time to look back at a number of the startup cohort to have gone through the last IgniteNI accelerator, whilst also offering a handy reminder of all the key details a startup would need to know to apply to their latest programme.
IgniteNI Accelerator is a 12-week Belfast based programme designed to put established tech companies, who need help scaling and raising further investment, on a global stage. Based at Ormeau Baths in Belfast, over a three month period running March to end of May 2019, the IgniteNI accelerator programme aims to support startups through a combination of mentoring, workshops, £15k investment and investment meetings - with the teams also transported to London, Dublin, New York and San Francisco to help build a network of founders, investors and advisers.
IgniteNI have also added an additional San Francisco Landing pad to the programme, with 5 selected founders from the accelerator programme then receiving a desk in a dedicated landing pad office in San Francisco for 3 months, running September to November 2019.
We’ve previously featured a number of the 2018 IgniteNI startups on Startacus, including Continually, a SaaS startup that aims to help businesses to automate customer acquisition by replacing their online contact forms, Locate a Locum an online marketplace platform, connecting locum pharmacists to employers and Veri, a software platform aiming to take the pain and paper out of compliance and quality assurance.
And success has followed for many of the last IgniteNI cohort. CadShare, a distributed platform for manufacturing parts who work with equipment manufacturers who need to protect and grow their aftermarket business, raised a £500k round before they’d even finished the programme and Datch Systems an intelligent voice interface for industrial environments, followed their stay in Belfast by moving to San Francisco to take part in Acceleprise, one of the 1st SaaS focused accelerator programmes in the US.
Talking of the US, iSensing a multipurpose smart-cities solution which tracks and analyses movement and duration data, followed up their time on IgniteNI by moving out to Boulder, Colorado after being selected to take part in the Boomtown Accelerators programme, a next important step for this IoT startup with global ambitions.
For a more in-depth look at the IgniteNI programme, read over this recent blog post care of IgniteNI, CEO Tristan Watson and to apply by close midnight 20th January, head here. We look forward to finding out who makes the latest IgniteNI programme and best of luck to all whom apply.
