HowNow - employee learning made easy

by Startacus Admin
From onboarding to upskilling, edtech startup HowNow helps you create, deliver, manage and measure all your learning in one place.
One of the hardest parts of starting a new job is the onboarding and learning all the processes, the intricate details you’ll need to know to do your job and do it well. This can be tricky from the employer’s side as well, because knowing the job and being able to lay it out in teachable terms are two different things. But learning doesn’t stop there. To be particularly effective at your job, you’ll need to be learning all the time, upskilling, keeping up to date with new app updates, or sales channels, or policies. So what is the best way to do all of this, for everyone, while ensuring it doesn’t become too much?
UK edtech startup HowNow has built a learning platform for employees that lets teams learn and upskill together, collaboratively. This makes onboarding new employees faster, allows teams to become closer, makes learning more rewarding and engaging, and helps that learning to stick better than if they were to simply read something on their own.
HowNow lets you combine all learning sources into one place, preventing wasted time on searching for information, and allows employees to share expertise with colleagues, host sessions to learn together, and capture answers to repeat questions. Learning progress can be tracked by employers through analytics and peer reviews, and the same analytics platform will help identify gaps in knowledge and skills, as well as allowing you to personalise learning for individual employees. This also means that, while employees learn new skills and get better and better at their jobs, they aren’t learning things that they don’t actually need for their specific roles.
Recently, HowNow announced that they had raised $5 million in funding from Mercia Asset Management and learning company, Pearson. This funding will allow the startup to develop new features, and begin their international expansion.
