Hoffice lets you Crowdsource a coworking space into your livingroom

Ahhh, working from home. One of the best, and potentially worst things about being self employed. On the one hand, how lovely and liberating not to have to make the trek into the office every morning, but on the other, how incredible difficult to create structure and ensure that your day is as productive as possible. We have some great tips and advice on ensuring that you remain focused when working from home, but a Swedish company has come up with an innovative way of giving you the extra boost you need. Hoffice (a wonderfully crude amalgamation of ‘home’ and ‘office’) is a new global crowdsourced network that helps to facilitate the creation of free coworking spaces within the homes of the people who use it. This Swedish platform allows users to either open up their home to others in need of a place to work, or make use of the home of someone else in the network. The idea is that crowdsourcing workspaces like this can help give those who don't work in an office, by providing a structure and environment which is more conducive to productivity than simply working alone.
It means that people who don't work within a traditional office environment aren't denied the social interaction and productivity boosting structure that they can provide. Every group session has a facilitator who is tasked with creating a loose structure to the day with work time split into 45 minute segments and 15 minute breaks in which workers can exercise, socialise or just relax.
Hoffice is a free service but everyone who takes part is encouraged to help pay a small amount towards the costs. It's available all over the world so why not arrange one in your local area?
We reckon this is a really intriguing prospect, so why not pop over to the Hoffice website for more details on what they are doing and what their plans are for the future.
