Hardware Accelerator CRL Open to Applications

by Startacus Admin
Product and Hardware based startups, take note! CRL is open once again for applications to their six-month accelerator programme, supporting the next generation of product-focused startups and entrepreneurs and helping them develop crucial aspects of their business to accelerate growth and production.
The Central Research Laboratory, based in the Old Vinyl Factory in Hayes, West London, is an accelerator, incubator, and co-working space part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund to continue their work of supporting innovative startups to create high-tech jobs.
We had recently wrote about Chip[s] Board, one of the startups currently on this accelerator programme, and just how well they are doing, and last month we outlined a free programme run by CRL, called BOOST - which offers FREE to attend workshops and one-to-one mentoring sessions, for hardware / product focused startups…
So now onto the CRL programme itself….
Part of the CRL programme for successful startups is (deep breath) a £5,000 start-up grant, access to CRL’s four specialist prototyping facilities, support from their in-house product development team, dedicated one-on-one mentoring sessions with a wide range of industry experts, direct connections with manufacturers through a trip to Shenzhen, and support in raising seed funding.
The standard terms for taking part in the accelerator are 3% equity, exercised only when the business gains sufficient funding, revenue, or traction.
Criteria for applying, as you may have guessed by now, are a working prototype or existing investment, innovative business or product model, and the desire to create a scalable, product-based business.
Managing Director, Mat Hunter says: ‘We are proud to support the aspirations of successful entrepreneurs who are eager to develop their designs into into world class businesses. The UK is home to world-class design and engineering talent but it can be challenging to access the knowledge and resources required to get ideas into production. We meet an important need.’
For more details on the programme, and to read case studies of accelerator alumni, head over to CRL’s accelerator page and if you reckon that this hardware focused accelerator is definitely for you, you can apply here - www.centralresearchlaboratory.com/apply - you have until 29th July, to do just that.
Best of luck to all whom apply!
