Happity wants to make finding baby and toddler groups child's play

by Startacus Admin
Find local baby & toddler groups. Fast. Happity aims to make it easy for parents & carers to find accurate info on what's on for their kids. According to Happity, parents in the UK spend c.£2bn on organised activities for pre-school aged children, yet finding these classes is like a needle in a haystack. Their two-sided online marketplace targets the under-5 market specifically where decision-making behaviour over 'what shall we do today' is distinctly different from other age groups.
After a successful beta test where Happity started in just four SE London postcodes and attracted 4,000 sessions in our first month alone, they have now recently secured initial funding and a place on the UK wide Ignite Accelerator and are now preparing to launch London-wide.
The platform allows parents to search and filter for classes, find drop-ins, free trials, see what's on at your local venues day-by-day, search by map, and find out about local baby and toddler focused news.
The platform itself was conceived and developed in a kid-focused environment with the founders working around their children to make the project happen. Founder Sara Tateno learnt to code, via a Makers Academy intensive 4 month bootcamp whilst her husband was on shared parental leave with their 6 month old son. She then built the first version of Happity and is passionate about getting more women into tech - attracting a team of highly experienced women who all work flexibly from home.
We look forward to seeing if Happity, currently a London focused site, can go nationwide and congrats to Sara and the Happity team for their endevour and success to date.
