greendeckRetail is difficult. Pricing correctly, marketing and promotions, stocking the right things at the right time, getting the customer experience just right, and generally making all the right decisions.
Greendeck To get it right requires research and intelligence gathering like a slightly boring James Bond. However, this research can not only take a long time to gather in sufficient quantity to be of use, but also, off the top of your head, how many efficient ways can you think of to do this? Probably (hopefully, or this doesn’t work) not many, which means research into how best to do research. Before you know it, you’ve wasted masses of time and have little to show for it.

And wasting time is something no business can afford to do. So, how do you go about gathering crucial intel without wasting precious time? Coincidentally, our startup this time wants to help you with just that!

Greendeck is using artificial intelligence and methods similar to Google to curate huge amounts of data for you.

Greendeck scours the internet, collecting data from over 9000 brands and over 500 retailers across more than 10 countries, then cleans it up, processes it, and classifies the products into categories and sub-categories, tagging them with attributes. The AI uses image recognition and natural language processing to ensure that these classifications are accurate.

greendeck screenThis data is displayed in clear visualisations that include pricing, stock distribution, and competitors’ promotions. These are vital details that allow you actionable insight for your own pricing, restocking decisions, sales, and marketing. All of this is collected in a user-friendly dashboard, where you can customise your searches and categories, and receive real-time alerts as necessary.

Greendeck has a lot of good backing and, as well as being a Techstars Accelerator company, is a part of 10-week incubation programme, intu Accelerate. Other support and investment comes from, Y Combinator Startup School, and Startupbootcamp. With such good backing, and a product that radically simplifies insights for online retailers, we think we could be seeing Greendeck’s name on a lot of retailer’s website from now on.
