Gravity Co-Living - a smarter type of shared living

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Gravity Co-Living and its mission to improve the lives of today's rental generation through a community-centred, effortless and borderless living experience.
With the house market out of control and every run-down one-bedroom flat costing us a million or so (we haven’t checked, but we’ve confidently assumed this is exactly the case), it’s getting harder for people to get a foot on that property ladder. Renting, then, remains the best and only choice for many people.
Of course, for a lot of people, renting is ideal anyway because they don’t want to be chained to one location for the rest of their mortgage-riddled life. Renting can be expensive too, so what about renting that’s all inclusive and comes with benefits?
We wrote about Gravity Co-Living on the site back in 2020, and we thought now would be a good time to check back in on them. Since we first wrote about the startup, they have raised a lot more funding for expansion. In 2021, they raised nearly £1 million, and less than a month ago, they raised a further £5 million in a bid to further expand globally, with wheels already in motion in Barcelona, Paris, and Milan. It’s a perfect time to do so, with cost of living crises affecting many countries, and the significant increase in work-from-home jobs.
The temptations of the startup are numerous, from the fact you can rent from a reputable source rather than a shady landlord, to the all-inclusive nature of the monthly fee. Co-living, in this context, doesn’t mean sharing your home with strangers, but rather living in a flat within a community-minded building full of others with the same mindset.
After all, the startup’s 4 pillars of community are Personal Wellbeing, Meaningful Engagement, Professional Growth, and Unconventional Design. The idea of co-living isn’t only to have a place to live, but a place where you can network and establish potential life-long friendships and collaborations with similar people.
The all-inclusive rent covers utilities, cleaning, security, laundry facilities, and more, but it also gives you access to high street discounts, partner services, wellbeing support, and events. Whether these events are yoga or meditation classes, entrepreneur mentoring, industry-specific meetups and talks, community dinners, or partner events, it all happens right there in the communal spaces.
We said last time that we thought Gravity Co-Living would take off around the country and beyond, and we are glad to see that happening!
