GrantFairy - the scholarship app for students

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on GrantFairy - the innovative UK scholarship app for students, that matches them with scholarships, bursaries and grants...Student debt is a crippling weight that many university graduates have to live with, and that we as a society have come to accept as just a part of life. Tuition fees are excruciating, and combined with basic living expenses while you’re actually at university, you may graduate with the price of a small house to pay off. This debt can put people off going to university altogether, especially if they aren’t aware that student loans are not the only route to funding.
Early stage startup GrantFairy, was created for this very reason. Born from the fact that student grants, scholarships, and bursaries are often hard to find, and not well publicised, GrantFairy is a free mobile app that helps students to find these scholarships.
With just a handful of details, such as the university and course you are applying to, the app will find scholarships tailored to you.
The app is more than just a search engine, however. It contains a guide to UK universities and colleges, each with its own profile page, to help you to decide where and what you want to study before you even start thinking about the actual scholarship.
Likewise, every grant and scholarship has its own detailed profile page alongside links to the application. Once you have applied, the app helps you keep track of these application.
The app was built by people who know the very struggle its users are going through, and tailored to making this less agonising. The idea of being able to graduate from university with no debt at all is a dream for many students, and we think GrantFairy will do well in Virgin’s business pitch competition, VOOM.
