Got a great mobile or web application idea? £50,000 worth of services up for grabs!

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus we are always looking out for new startups and exciting ideas - after all there are fab new ones being dreamt up every day by people just like you!
So when the chance comes along for us to spread the word about a great little comp that in turn is helping bring ideas to life, we like to help as much as we can. The lattest such comp that’s come to our attention is Get Started 2014…
So what’s the Get Started 2014 comp then?
It’s for you if you’ve got a great mobile or web application idea, but need help getting it to the next level. Perhaps you’re having issues getting your MVP (Minimum Viable Product) sorted and a marketing plan could help? Well that could be achieved if you win this comp - there is £50,000 or $70,000 worth of development, marketing and hosting up for grabs. Bet that caught your attention! Bristol based Simpleweb in partnership with Rackspace and Onboardly are offering this prize to help with development, marketing and infrastructure of the best startup idea.
Getting Started:
If you haven’t yet had any investment or development, it’s time to submit your idea on the GetStarted 2014 website as the closing date for submissions is June 30th 2014. The good thing is that you can also see what has been submitted already so you can suss out the competition. Once your idea is online, get as many people as you can to vote for it. The more votes you have, the better chance of winning. The top ten ideas – based on the most votes – will be submitted to an all-star panel of judges for consideration for the final prize. The winning idea will be announced in July 2014. If your idea wins it will be crafted into a working application and shared with the world by a top marketing team. There is no limit to the amount of entries that you can have, but we all know that one good idea is best.
How it all breaks down:
· Onboardly are offering up $15,000 to develop a PR and marketing plan for your idea.
· The Rackspace Startup Program will offer world class hosting and Fanatical Support - -$25,000 will be used for this and a whopping $30k worth of development from the Simpleweb team will be used to build your MVP.
There are plenty of great ideas on the website to check out and vote for even if you don’t enter yourself. If you do enter though - best of luck from the Startacus team! We reckon this is a great opportunity…
