Google Adopt a Startup Spring 17 programme ends with pitch finals

Last thursday evening (07-04-17), 8 qualifying Irish Startups pitched to Google Ireland's leadership team as well as leading figures from the Irish Startup Community at a Grand Final in Google Ireland's Headquarters, with the hope of being crowned the Google Adopt a Startup 2017 Spring Programme winners.
With LogoGrab named the overall winner, we took a look over the latest Google Adopt a Startup Programme and also the standout winners from the end of programme pitch event.
Adopt a Startup, is an Irish only Google programme with the mission to accelerate the growth of high potential Irish Startups. Providing skill based mentoring to high- potential Startups, Google helps them to structure for scale and get the most out of the web (that kinda being Google’s thing). Each Startup received 12 weeks hands-on mentoring, access to exclusive lectures, fireside chats and workshops at the Google Ireland offices.
The 2017 cycle of the programme started mid January with 31 startups selected to join the programme and accumulated in last Thursday's (6th April 17) pitch finals. Eight finalists had to pitch for seven minutes on their business plans and strategies and the impact the Adopt a Start Up programme, had had on their businesses.
The Judges of Joe Healy, High Potential Startup Unit, Enterprise Ireland, Cera Ward, Country Director, Large Customer Sales, UK & Ireland, Google, Patrick Walsh, Managing Director, DogPatch Labs, Colin Goulding, Director, Global Customer Experience, Google and David Grunwald, Head of Global Partnerships, Google for Entrepreneurs, ending the evening by announcing the three startups that had bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd places on the programme.
First place went to LogoGrab
Dublin based LogoGrab is an image recognition technology provider for detecting logos and SKUs in images and video. LogoGrab provides the perfect platform for industries in many verticals, including Social Media Monitoring, Brand Compliance, Counterfeit Detection, Retail Intelligence, Mobile and Brand Engagement, Sponsorship Monitoring, and more. Second place went to Campsited
Awarded startup of the week by Startacus in January 17, Campsited, is a platform which enables campers and holiday seekers to find and book campsites, touring parks and holiday parks. Campsited was founded with a simple goal, to be the easiest way for people to find and book campsites and holiday parks. Big congrats Campsited!

Third place went to Obeo
Obeo is a compostable box for clean and easy food waste recycling . Obeo food waste box is the convenient counter top solution to separating food waste at home. Simply fill Obeo with all household food waste. When full Obeo, along with its contents, goes directly into the organic bin and a new box is opened. Obeo is a stand-alone unit and so removes the need for the plastic kitchen caddy. Nice! Congrats Obeo!
