Good Life Sorted
The London based startup, Good Life Sorted that has created a marketplace for older adults to connect with helpers within the community...

goodlifesorted logoIt is an unfortunate fact that older people are more often the targets of scams and related crimes than the average younger person. They are often depicted as either too trusting and gullible, or the complete opposite and they won’t open the door to anyone without their job ID, passport, and birth certificate.

Unfortunately, a lot of criminals are good at what they do, and are able to convince people that they are genuine. And it’s not even only criminals. ‘Cowboy’ workmen are also a problem for older people, doing shoddy work, overcharging, and then disappearing without the customer being able to do anything about it. So what if someone else did the checking for you and in far more depth than you ever could?

London-based Good Life Sorted does just that. With Good Life Sorted, you can find vetted helpers and other professionals offering a range of services to older adults at home, all checked and trained.

These services include gardening, plumbing, painting and decorating, cleaning, laundry, shopping, welfare checks, tech assistance, visits for company, and much, much more.

Good Life SortedAll you need to do is input your postcode and select the service that you are looking for, and you will be able to browse the profiles of all nearby Helpers that offer that service. If you cannot find someone, you can post a job and Helpers capable of performing that job can then respond to you.

From there, it is just a case of picking the person who suits you best and arranging a visit. And you have the peace of mind of knowing that every Helper has been thoroughly vetted and trained to interact with older adults.

Not only will this keep older people safer, but if the difference between an older person remaining in the comfort of their own home and having to move into a nursing home is simply having someone around to do the odd chore, we think this is a very worthwhile service that will enable people to remain mostly independent for a lot longer.
