GirlCrew - the new way for women to find friends

by Startacus Admin
GirlCrew - this Dublin based social media platform and app is on a mission to help women to make new friends

To her surprise, she got over 100 ‘matches’, and she added these women to a Facebook group where they could all get to know each other and arrange outings and the like. From here, Elva employed the help of Aine Mulloy and Pamela Newenham, the community evolved, and the three became the co-founders of a brand new startup.
Dublin-based GirlCrew is a women-only social media platform for women to make new friends.
Whether you are looking for someone to go dancing with, a jogging group, or a bunch of women to go on holiday with you, GirlCrew is a community full of women looking for the same. Members can post comments to start or join a chat about anything they want, or to create events for other women to show their interest in.
GirlCrew has over 100,000 members across cities like Dublin, London, Edinburgh, Melbourne, Toronto, New York, and San Francisco. GirlCrew recently raised €810,000 in seed funding, with which they will continue to expand across the US, city by city.
Making new friends as an adult can be difficult, especially while your existing friends are settling down around you and raising families, or if you’ve just moved to a new city, or if your obsession with My Little Pony makes others uncomfortable.
A social media platform specifically for the purpose of nudging you towards new friends is welcome, and we think GirlCrew will fill the void in between the Facebooks and the Tinders of the world (wide web).
