Get The Shifts is a Clare-based Irish startup created for the very purpose of connecting hospitality staff with the people who need them.
The hospitality sector is one of those that can need extra help at the drop of a hat, and often in only a temporary capacity. Whether a staff member lets you down or you are running a one-off event, you might not have available replacements in your phonebook just waiting for your call. Jobs boards are an option, but why go through that hassle when you could use a platform set up specifically for what you need?
Get The Shifts is an Irish startup created for the very purpose of connecting hospitality staff with the people who need them.
Whether you are short of staff in a restaurant, stadium, bar, or event, or are trained in hospitality and looking for work to supplement your current job or to earn some money while you study, Get The Shifts reckons it is the platform for you.
All staff listed on Get The Shifts go through extensive training to ensure they meet all requirements of food safety, health & safety, customer service, and responsible service of alcohol, and are vetted by the platform before being added. So for an employer, it is as simple as signing up and browsing available people’s relevant information, including references, to find that perfect mixologist for their fancy cocktail party.
Last minute bookings are accepted, with only 3 hours’ notice and there is no admin for the employer to do, as Get The Shifts does all the admin, timesheets, and payroll for you, as well as checking necessities like visas and Right to Work status.
Get The Shifts came in a close second at the all-Ireland startup pitch competition for early-stage startups at NI tech event, Innovation Nation, which took place in Newry in September, delivered in partnership with Startacus.
So far in 2018, Get The Shifts has won the County Enterprise Award 2018 in Co. Clare, the National Enterprise Awards 2018 for Best New Startup, and the Business All-Star Award 2018. It’s a deceptively simple, innovative startup that is massively helpful to both employers and hospitality staff, and we look forward to seeing how much further they have got by this time next year...
