General Assembly to be aquired by The Adecco Group

by Startacus Admin
The Adecco Group (think HR and Recruitment solutions) have announced a definitive agreement to
acquire General Assembly (think education and career transformation) for $412.5m.
The acquisition aims to position the Adecco Group as a leader in the fast-growing up-/re-skilling segment, complementing it's existing solutions and creating significant synergies in Talent Development & Career Transition and Professional Staffing & Solutions. General Assembly will continue to operate as a separate division within the Adecco Group under the leadership of founder and CEO Jake Schwartz and his team. Only founded in 2011, General Assembly is a global leader in dynamic digital skills training for individuals and corporations, offering accelerated learning programs in high-demand 21st-century digital skills.
General Assembly offers employer-focused, practitioner-taught technical skills training and development in business-critical areas such as coding, data science, user experience design and digital marketing. Its full-time immersive and part-time courses are delivered by expert instructors across an international network of 20 global campuses, at enterprise client sites, online or via a blended model.
General Assembly focus on employer needs and relationships with around half of their part-time students funded by employers who want their employees trained and upskilled in areas such as tech, data, design and business. Therefore it comes as no surprise to Startacus that Adecco would target General Assembly as a key aquistion, with both Adecco and General Assembly having vast global networks and communities.
General Assembly's ability to upskill and pipeline quality candidates, a win-win for Adecco who amongst many things, are market leaders in temporary staffing and permanent recruitment. Bingo.
A big congrats to General Assembly - Startacus have collaborated with GA on a number of occasions in the past and we wish them all the very best going forward!
