Future of Work and Workplace Solutions sought for all-island Irish Startup Pitch Comp

by Startacus Admin
Showcase your innovative workplace solution at the Work: In Progress startup pitch competition taking place during the Work: In Progress event on 10th November.
Streamed live from Belfast and with a number of tickets available to attend in person at The Mac Belfast, Work: In Progress is an all-day event organised by Startacus with major sponsors RealTime Recruitment and Version 1, featuring everything from insights on the future of workspaces and ways of working, future jobs and talent planning, through to discussions on diversity, inclusion and social purpose as well as the hiring demands of the growing tech sector.
Aiming also to showcase and champion innovation in Ireland, up to 8 tech startups from the island of Ireland with relevance to future work and workplace solutions will also have the opportunity to compete in a pitch competition for a cash prize of £1500.
The startup pitch competition is being powered by sponsors Clockwise Belfast and Raise Ventures, who are keen advocates for supporting the tech and startup ecosystem both locally and beyond.
Located in the Cathedral Quarter, Clockwise Belfast offers a city centre location with private offices, co working, meeting rooms and event space, spacious breakout areas, an onsite café and outdoor terrace with views over Belfast.
Rachel McMillan, General Manager of Clockwise Belfast said:
“With rolling monthly contracts and the ability to scale up or down to suit your business needs, Clockwise is a smart choice for flexible and hybrid working and being home to lots of innovative and creative startups and businesses, we were keen to support a startup pitch competition that is looking to the future of work and the workplace. We can’t wait to see what innovative startups apply.”
Eligible NI and ROI Startups must be 36 months old or less and have raised 100k or less (in terms of grants, funds and investment). Shortlisted startups who apply to the competition must be available to pitch to a group of judges during the week commencing 1st November with their pitch showcased during the 10th November event. Startup founders / or a senior representative of the team must be available to join a live session currently scheduled for 3.50pm - 4.15pm on 10th November when the Work: In Progress startup winner will be announced!
Based in Belfast, fellow Work: In Progress startup pitch sponsor Raise Ventures fully embraced the blended approach even before the pandemic. They help founders with scalable, high growth ideas to realise their potential and to take them from idea, through validation to acceleration and investment.
Jenny Ervine, co-founder of Raise Ventures said:
“To enable us to reach the right calibre of startups and advisors, we have had an online approach from day 1. The last 18 months have escalated our online approach and enabled us to run not just startup workshops but investor events to connect to a wider audience that want to invest in exciting early stage startups.
We want to work with more innovative NI and ROI early stage startups. And the Work: In Progress startup pitching event will showcase the best of those who are aiming to, or are currently bringing exciting work, business focused and workplace solutions to market!”
Interested startups can also reach out directly to Alastair Cameron, Co-founder at Startacus via alastair@startacus.net to discuss applying.
Applications can be made here where you can also review the competition’s terms and conditions. Good luck to all who apply!
